How we research, rank and update

The rules every Businesslang article follows.

Our method

  1. Start from the job. Every guide begins with the task the software must do and the business it serves, not with a vendor list.
  2. Check at the source. Prices, plan names and limits come from the vendor's own pricing and documentation pages, and we record the date we checked.
  3. Compare like with like. We say whether a price is billed annually or monthly, per user or per account, and which add ons cost extra.
  4. Count the full cost. We look past the entry price to the plan a typical business would need, setup effort, contract length and the cost of leaving.
  5. Cite everything. Every factual claim links to a source listed at the end of the article.

Rankings and scores

Shortlists are ordered by fit for the stated job. A product's place, score or verdict cannot be bought, and vendors do not see articles before they publish.

Updates and corrections

Pages show the date they were last updated. When a vendor changes a price or plan, or a reader reports an error that we confirm, we correct the page and change the date. Material corrections are noted in the article.

How we make money

Businesslang does not run advertising and does not sell personal data. If we ever add referral links, each page with such a link will say so clearly, and referral fees will never affect rankings or verdicts.

Use of AI

We may use software tools, including AI, to help research and draft. Every article is checked against its sources before it is published, and the editorial team is responsible for what we publish.
